Our Favorite Treadmill With TV – Smooth 9.45 TV Treadmill

We’ve come across a new treadmill with TV model that should grab the attention of anyone looking to purchase a treadmill with a built in TV.

I’d like to introduce you to my favorite Treadmill with TV – The Smooth 9.45 TV Treadmill.

When you are choosing a treadmill with TV or any fitness machine for that matter, I always recommend going for the highest quality that you can afford.  This is especially true for treadmills.  Why?  Because if you think about it, this is an item that you will pay good money for, take it home, and then spend all of your time jumping and stomping all over it every day in the course of your workouts.

As I was looking in to different treadmill with TV models, I obviously wanted one that was very durable and also one that had a lot of features.  But I didn’t want to spend a fortune.  After reading a bunch of reviews online, I kept seeing this one mentioned. I was attracted to it because it seemed to have a good blend of premium features at an affordable price.

Before I get to the reviews, let me tell you a little about this treadmill.

Features of the Smooth 9.45 Treadmill with TV:

  • 15 Inch LCD TV - High quality TV mounted at eye level, set into its own frame.  Remains stable and vibration free when you are running hard or at an incline.   No interference from the treadmill’s motor.  Use headphones or high quality built in speakers.
  • Large Whisper Weave Treadbelt – Quiet, durable, 20”x60” running surface – Plenty of room for running or walking.
  • Motion Control Hands-Free Speed Adjustment System – Adjust speed with a simple wave of your hand.  No need  to slow down to figure out which button to push. Adjust speed with a simple hand gesture.
  • Hydra Suspension System – Adjust the shock absorption of the track to 12 different levels.
  • Wireless Heart Rate Control Included – Control the function of the treadmill based on your target heat rate.

After reading through all the reviews, one of the things that customers often remarked was its durability.  One mother mentioned that she purchased this treadmill with TV to replace her family’s gym membership.  But she was worried that her sons and husband would be too big and heavy for it.  She was happy to report that the machine held up just fine.  Another reviewer said it felt like it was the same quality as those found at a gym.

Many of the reviewers had good things to say about the built-in TV.  One reviewer likes to watch ESPN as he is working out.  He says it makes the workouts go faster.  One reviewer said that having the built-in TV eliminated a big temptation for not being on the treadmill.  Reviewers also appreciated that that there was no vibration or shaking in the picture while they were working out.

The only negative comment I could find was that some people reported they had to wait several weeks for delivery.

Weighing in at 315 pounds, you need to have professional delivery and installation for this one.  But the company frequently offers free in-room delivery.  You’ll have to check with the company website for details, as those offers come and go.  Shipping is usually free.

Here is my favorite customer quote from the Smooth Fitness site:

“I had my first 45 minute workout this morning and I could not be happier. I will be canceling my gym membership because this treadmill is every bit at heavy duty as what my gym has. Believe the HYPE on this one. Its strong, its quiet, its stable and I really like how you can increase your speed just by waving your hand above the sensors.”

How do you get a Smooth 9.45 Treadmill with TV?

For this model, it is best to go directly to the Smooth Fitness website.  You’ll get factory direct pricing and save quite a bit compared to buying from smaller boutique dealers.   The site also often has no-interest payment plans available if you want to spread out the purchase price over a few months.  You can also find this machine at Amazon.com.

Treadmill with TV – My Secret Workout Weapon

I’d like to introduce you to my new secret technique for relieving workout rut.

A treadmill with TV!

With winter coming to my area, I’ve recently started working out on a treadmill again. The benefit of a treadmill workout is that there is no danger from cars, and the shelter in my home protects me from rain and snow and cold (and then I can’t use those as an excuse when I feel like skipping a workout!). A treadmill with TV built into it (or attached to the frame) is a brilliant idea. I can look at my workout and the TV without bobbing my head up and down between the treadmill display and the TV that is across the room. I can adjust my work out too – I like to alternate running fast and slow during commercials for a good interval workout.

Some of the treadmill with TV combinations allow for cable input and even DVDs, so now you can watch the movie that no one else in your home wants to watch. You can listen through the built-in speakers or use a headphone unit. This is perfect for when the treadmill is in the same room as your main television, and you and your significant other or housemate differ on what to watch. Rather than being a couch potato and watching something in which you have no interest, you can watch your own program or movie and so can your housemate/significant other.

A treadmill with TV built in may also get other members of your household running or walking. Sometimes it is quite boring to work out on a treadmill, but having the TV right there makes it more entertaining. Sometimes I just listen to my mp3 player – on some units the tv doesn’t have to be used when the treadmill is activated.

Don’t forget that you can spend your time just walking too. Perhaps you are only getting into an exercise routine, or don’t want to get too sweaty during an evening work out. Walking can be just as beneficial as running, and the entertainment right in front of you on the treadmill with TV display will keep the walk from being so tedious.

When you do your research on the best treadmill with TV, be sure to check the warranty. After all, once you get to frequent running you will need to adjust the speed and incline a lot more, and you want your treadmill to last for several years. Also, look for a treadmill with a tv that is fairly steady in it’s frame or display area, bouncing images are hard to follow.
